I came across this cassette while at work browsing the internets on my break. At first I thought it was part of a project I was working on for the actual Citadel in Commerce, CA. Then I was like “Oh, this is a release on Adhesive Sounds!” a cassette label that I’m very fond of. Also brought back some memories of when I lived in South Pasadena about 10 years ago and I used to frequent the Citadel and shop at Calvin Klein, Puma Outlet Store and that one shop that had euro jeans. But I digress…
Summer at The Citadel has that feeling of actually being there with the “Heavy Crowds” and “Fragrance Testing” surrounded by “So Many Deals”. Vaporwave Mall Aesthetic sounds are at the forefront on this release. Just like the Citadel itself, the sounds on this tape brings back memories and sounds as if you’re hearing the music in a dream. A must have for the “Smoothie Sipping” shopper in all of us.
