German label MMODEMM has released two cassettes which appear to be a part of something more grand. Markus Gibb “Deuxiéme Etage” (MDM #3) and Yung Prado “Low Budget High Life” (MDM #4). "Deuxiéme Etage” MDM #3 calls out early industrial pioneers such as Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb before the genre went towards more metal infuences. Glimpses of house and techno are sprinkled throughout the release. A classic sound for current times. Yung Prado’s “Low Budget High Life” MDM #4 is more Techno Acid House, conjuring those old school rave nights.
There are 2 more cassettes released back in October and November 2016. Rolande Garros “Grand Slam” MDM #1 and Danse Musique Rhône-Alpes “Alerte à Walibi Ep” MDM #2. They all have the old school techno house vibe. Looks like there should be 4 more. So we’ll keep our eyes and our ears peeled for them.
