Ever since I was a small boy, I’ve always been intrigued by sound. Living in New York, I was surrounded by it. The hustle and bustle of the city streets, the humming sounds the tires make on the Queensborough Bridge, the passing trains. These sounds lulled me to sleep. “The Galvanic Twitch” reminds me of those times. But as an older man, these sounds keep me attentive. These sounds were created by Matthias Urban using chemically treated tapes, contact mics, tape recorders and various other devices at his disposal. Released on Dinzu Artefacts out of Los Angeles, CA.
