Marilu Donovan and Tristan Kasten-Krause suspend time, freezing moments of uncertainty and uncalm for closer inspection on their latest album ‘Nowhere’. Over the course of three lengthy pieces, Nowhere slowly comes unstitched. The two players trade long tones bowed on both upright bass and harp, ghostly voices calling from a distance and occasional bursts of clatter interrupting the space. Unsettling and without resolution, Nowhere hangs with a sense of quiet foreboding all the more powerful in its relatively minimal approach. Out now on Unifactor.
