‘Circus Dub / Bloke Stuff’ is an album that musically celebrates the types of references found on old vinyl records from stores and charity shops across the UK. Although the music on the double album is entirely recorded and composed by Jack Wolff, he found his footing for hiphop loops as an sp404 troop, choosing through the disparity in forgetting melodies of the past. Pairing up with metaphor master Ty Healy a number of years ago, they’re combined efforts took a turn to the world of cartoons and lucid story lines thanks to Ty’s unique ability to conjure narrative out of the smallest subject matter. “Catchy hooks and a Dope vibe” doesn’t quite do this project justice despite it being 100% true, beneath the surface is social commentary, hidden pop culture references and dark humour at its finest.
