‘Weekend Satanists’ is a synth infused blast of free-jazz percussion, with heavy drone, psych, and sci-fi influences oozing from each of the album’s eight tracks. Intense and unrelenting like much of Coach Campa’s past work, what really sets this album apart stylistically is the entrancing and psychedelic synthesizer work of Aaron Arguello. The percussion and keys play off one another in dynamic and unpredictable ways, at times at odds with one another, ultimately leading to bursts of cohesion. Out now on Already Dead Tapes.
