Soda Lite – Earthbound

Earth-bound, dust-covered, sun-drenched; odes to what remains, to simmering realms unfolding against ruin. To mongrel energies adapting and bristling for expression as the world erupts. Where sunbeams ignite the clouds, warm and cold-blooded life persists. Earthly forces gather up in saturated bursts; echoing, dripping, circulating, unfurling, reverberating. Grey clouds leech sunlight, dusktime birds and moths mingle in a flurry of pollen and dust, and molten sap rises up through tree veins with the ebb of lunar tides. Daylight breaks, slurred flutes and swollen drones perspire in the midday haze, communing with devouring spirits in a twin wilderness. Across rockpools the sea-water evaporates into shimmering layers of crystallised salt, and beneath the tideline crumbling walls of steel and cracked cement lay wave-eaten and pockmarked with molluscs, remnants of a deceased world fibrous with algae and latching kelp. As the sun recedes, the last tendrils of fading light quietly soak the landscape, and a host of star-shaped fossils scattered across the sandstone begin to glisten like celestial runes. Out now on Aural Canyon.
