Since he began composing in 2019, Shrieky has released numerous tracks on labels such as Barcelona’s Diffuse Reality and Exeter’s Mighty Force. Now, he makes his debut on Nocturnal Technology, bringing his signature heavy and dark sound along with him.
Shrieky’s album ‘RUINED’ opens with a sound reminiscent of an apocalyptic horn, setting the tone for what feels like a soundtrack to surviving a ruined world. Energies driven by hard kicks and hats are propelled by distorted basslines, while percussion soaked in deep reverb echoes as if striking the crumbling walls of a ruin. Keeping the listener in a trance state, the tapehead advances further into a reversed world.
The B-side, starting with “No Escape,” roams atop a 4×4 beat, pushing ever deeper toward a catastrophic end. As everything melts and blends into a world of chaos, the album meets its final collapse. Out now on Nocturnal Technology.
