Once I Died – Will I Die ? No

Once I Died began as a solo project by Gianluca Rimei, an Italian musician and producer formerly part of the techno-industrial duo Calle Quevedo. The project’s debut album was released in 2022 on the Valencian label Industrial Complexx. Over time, Once I Died evolved into a duo with the addition of vocalist Valerio Pascucci, leading to an expanded sonic palette that merges noise, shoegaze, and experimental elements.

‘Will I Die? No’. is the second album by Once I Died, marking a crucial step in their sonic evolution. More than just an album, it captures the raw imprint of a transformative experience. . Elevating its impact, the album was mastered by Rico Uochi Toki.
Inspired by a psychedelic journey in the woods, the record’s concept stems from an unplanned discovery of a hidden forest sanctuary. Guided by the sudden disappearance of deer into the bushes, Gianluca and Valerio stumbled upon a secluded “wood cave,” which they later named Villa Daino—”Deer Mansion” in Italian. The site became the backdrop for their psychedelic ceremony, an introspective voyage where they confronted the dissolution of ego and the persistence of consciousness.
The album title was born from a phonetic resemblance to Villa Daino, but it also encapsulates the core revelation of their experience: the ego may dissolve, but consciousness remains eternal.
Sonically, Will I Die? No. is a ritualistic exploration of sound, merging blunt, heavy distortions with ethereal vocal melodies. Each track oscillates between dreamy, hypnotic textures and crushing noise—an immersive push-and-pull between chaos and serenity, enlightenment and raw intensity. Once I Died describe it as “a pop record produced in hell.” Out now on Solium.
