Fraud Couture is a collective of experimental musicians, mostly based in Manchester. Their debut release is what they call “cute harsh noise”, an entirely improvised session recorded over two days at No Studio in Cheetham Hill, Manchester.
The album sits somewhere between avant-garde noise, free jazz, and free improvisation. Every sound you hear was created live, no samples, no post-production effects, and nothing digital in the electronic noise.
The setup includes drums, saxophone, a circuit-bent keyboard, and a range of hacked children’s toys used as analogue synths. All electronic elements were performed and recorded live, using analogue gear only (with the exception of vocal pitch processing). Out now on Noided.
