‘Z of A’, the first installment of a double album, examines humanity’s fractured relationship with technology, identity, and emotion in a hyperconnected, globally disrupted age. Spanning 57 minutes, the album meditates on the emotional toll of this chaos on the human psyche through an intricate fusion of music, poetry, prose, skits and field recordings. The result is a raw reflection on the cost of rapid and relentless change, capturing dissonance, longing and the search for meaning in a time filled with so much meaningless crap.
It begins with “Ambient Dilli”, a song that explores the love-hate relationship with home, seen through the lens of Delhi—a place that is both a sanctuary and a storm. From there, the album charts a dizzying course: “Spinning” and “Machines w/ Guitars” confront the mental strain of technological oversaturation, expressing an acute desire for freedom.
“Tu” wrestles with the inevitability of death, while “Cycles” is a loving portrayal of the human struggle with time, imbued with youthful arrogance. “So Slowly” offers a sobering critique of society’s lethargy in addressing environmental devastation.
“Mahiya” is steeped in nostalgia, its longing for pre-digital connection depicted as the pursuit of an elusive lover across time. “Lvng Flng” finds renewal and personal growth amid tragedy, weaving hope into the album’s darker undercurrents. Meanwhile, “MEWFY (My Eyes Will Find You)” explores vulnerability as a conduit for human connection, and “Catapult” closes the album with a celebration of youth, love and rejuvenation, offering a picturesque sunset as one chapter ends and another begins.
Z of A is a mirror to the cacophony and beauty of our time—an invitation to pause, listen, and reconnect in a world that often feels too fast, too loud, and too fragmented. More than just an album, it is a shared experience, a soundtrack for all who are navigating the ebb and flow of modern life.
