Nandele – Kampfumo

‘Kampfumo’ is the sonic embodiment of movement, resistance, and memory. Conceived during Nandele Maguni’s residency at ZHdK–ICST Spatial Studio in Zurich, the album unfolds as a deep experimental journey through the layered soundscapes of Maputo. Drawing from the city’s restless energy — its engines, voices, and rhythms — Kampfumo transforms the everyday pulse of the chapa 100 into a living metaphor for collective experience.

Blending distorted electronics, field recordings, and ancestral echoes, the album navigates the space between ritual and machine, chaos and rhythm, noise and silence. Each track functions like a transport line through Maputo’s invisible geographies, carrying fragments of memory, resistance, and spiritual vibration.

Kampfumo is not just an album — it’s an auditory passage where the mechanical becomes mystical, and the city breathes through sound. Out now on Already Dead Tapes.
