INFAMOUS (ALLIES) – D’VOX Magazine interview

The eternal complexities and challenges between wanting and doing.

1998 Miami. DJ Infamous (Allies) interview early in his career for D’VOX magazine. Recorded at the Plex graphic design studio on South Beach by PS199 (early journalism, promoter and DJ moniker of La Mano Fria) on a mini-tape recorder intended later to be transcribed for print. Talk includes: being an up and coming force in the early 90’s turntablist scene and business, and about the Miami music scene at the time from his perspective. This archive is divided into an interview on the A-side with a meditation on the flip side so those that only “want to do” can find inner peace.

According to Discogs – “American Grammy Award winning record producer and 3 time world champion DJ from Miami, Florida. Infamous, was a founding member of The-Allies Dj Crew (DJ Craze, DVLP, A-Trak) and is best known for his work with rapper Lil Wayne. He has produced songs for prominent recording artists such as Drake, Jay-Z, Nelly, Fat Joe, Game, Lupe Fiasco and Travis McCoy, among others. Although his current discography consists predominantly of rappers, Infamous is a multi-instrumentalist, who was once the guitar player and songwriter for rock band Antenna.”
