Quogne begins with Chanoine performing on vintage machines, with S. Lamoth reshaping, editing and programming the material into new forms. While synthwave often leans on human imagination and retro-futurist nostalgia, this project draws instead from a present-tense, inspired by the experiences and dreams of non-human forms of life. It evokes playful motion, endurance through harsh climates, anxious concealment, and gradual metamorphosis. Soft and abrasive textures are lit by sun and moon, casting shifting shadows and ever-changing silhouettes. Out now on Union Finale.
