Batteriestand Niedrig – Musterexemplar

Batteriestand Niedrig is an experimental music project by Marie Vermont, Nadeshda, and The Concept Horse, operating between abstraction, improvisation, and sonic exploration. Drawing from avant-garde and musique concrète traditions, their work focuses on texture, space, and interaction rather than conventional structure.

Their sound is shaped by metallic tones, manipulated tape fragments, and loops—often created using modified tape machines, circuit-bent pedals, altered instruments, and other devices—that unfold like a conversation, forming immersive and evolving environments. The music moves between calm, atmospheric passages and moments of increased intensity, occasionally touching on harsher textures while maintaining a sense of balance and cohesion. The trio creates music for listeners drawn to exploratory listening, where each piece develops as a shifting, expressive sound landscape.

Their latest release arrives as a C42 cassette on Epileptic Media, continuing their exploration of raw texture and immersive sound. The tape format complements their process-driven approach, capturing the immediacy and material character at the core of their work.
