With Great Care – Unfolding

Sound as a medium is one that does not ask to be understood. It is not concrete. It moves through and around us whether we give it our attention or not. It is a medium often used to communicate, but most sounds do not have any true meaning. A breeze rolling through a grassy field. Insects humming at the golden hour. The hollow quiet of a snowy tundra. The clattering, polyrhythmic swells of a crowd waiting for the next act. Wind chimes. These sounds carry no message or purpose—they simply are. They are reflections of the worlds we inhabit.

Sound is the voice of life in motion—restless, unconstrained, and constantly becoming something entirely itself. Each environment a living composition, unfolding without intention or conclusion. To listen without agenda is an act of allowing life to unfold as it is. It is an act of presence, compassion, and love.

‘Unfolding’ is a love letter to these ever-changing ecosystems of sound—at once ever-present and fleeting. It exists in the place between something and nothing—the place where meaning loosens its grip and experience takes its place. It is a reminder that not everything has to be something. A reminder that there is more space between something and nothing than there is at either end; space to feel, to drift, and just exist.

The music in this album does not ask anything of you— not even your attention. It does not insist upon interpretation nor demand understanding. It is an invitation to notice, soften, and maybe, listen without agenda.

At its core, Unfolding, is a gentle reminder that not everything has to be something and that attention, in its purest form, is an act of love. Out now on Aural Canyon.
