In his latest album, Eaten Bread Is Soon Forgotten, underground Hip-Hop legend Juga-Naut confronts the question that has dogged him for 20 years – how can the flame of the underground continue burning without the oxygen it deserves? The product of a 1-year sabbatical and a lifetime of musical innovation, he interrogates the role of the artist in the era of the artificial with his most ambitious and inspired work yet. Bringing together a wide range of soul-infused influences, he links heartfelt Latin jazz fusion to the deepest of deep house, with abstract Fender Rhodes loops, to the most unexpected sound tapestries, laced throughout with the upper echelon lyricism, flow and catchy hooks that are the definitive U.K. rap model. Responsible for all key elements of this, his most cohesive work to date, he once again demonstrates his self-reliance and mastery of the form. Featuring a collaboration with the visionary Quelle Chris and an invocation poem from El Dia, this powerful album is a potent elixir of what makes Hip-Hop one of the greatest art forms. With this work, the Chef offers you complex carbohydrate for the human soul in a time of creative famine.
